We love Gaia Stella’s work for many reasons: her clean aesthetic, her bold designs, her original color combinations, her flair, not to mention her name which, translated into English, is "Merry Star”: a bright light that twinkles and delights!

Her latest picture book, Bambini e Bambole (Children and Dolls) written by Gianni Rodari in 1964, was recently published by EL edizioni to mark the centennial anniversary of the birth of the beloved and brilliant children's author and pedagogue. For the occasion the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco have organized the exhibition "Italian Excellence: Illustrators for Gianni Rodari," inviting Gaia to the opening in San Francisco on December 2nd. The show will be up until February 2020 before it travels to the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
