Anne Bentley

Anne Bentley

A classic late bloomer who ignored all signs (until 2015) that pointed to a career in illustration and instead studied fine art, Anne grew up in Alabama and now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her childhood was spent playing in kudzu and drawing and painting on everything at home, including the walls and furniture. After studying art at Auburn University, Anne went on to study fine art at Ringling College of Art and Design, then moved to Boston to focus on painting at School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Anne works in a variety of markets including editorial, home decor, puzzles, stationery and books. Her first illustrated children’s picture book, Pool Party (Cameron Kids, 2022), is written by Elisa Parhad and Amy Duchene.
Fashion, vintage pottery, architecture and interior design are constant sources of inspiration. Her favorite way to spend time when not working is poking around in a good thrift store.
