Julianna Brion
Julianna Brion grew up in a family of artists and children’s authors, where she was surrounded by a deep love for books from a very early age. She studied illustration and worked for many years as an editorial illustrator doing assignments for newspapers, advertisements and book covers. Eventually, she decided to go back to her roots and begin a new adventure creating books for children. She experiments with different types of media in her artwork, including gouache, colored pencil, collage, and digital techniques. She is currently working on a self-initiated picture book that features and “honors all the yaks, from Shangri-La to Halifax, the hairy ox, the fine bovine with curly locks and horns divine!” When she is not working, she can be found watching old movies, knitting sweaters or making a mess in her studio. She currently lives in Baltimore with her partner and her cats, Dora, Nuala, and Smudge.
