Benjamin Chaud
Benjamin Chaud is a well-known and much-loved French author and illustrator of more than 60 books. His award-winning books, from The Bear’s Song (hélium, 2011) to I Didn’t Do My Homework Because… (Chronicle, 2014), stand out for their distinctive art style, subtle humor, and extraordinary invention. His immersive illustrations, filled with amusing details and populated by unforgettable characters, capture young and older readers alike.
His work has received multiple awards, and his books have been recommended by The New York Times. He was awarded the Gold Medal by the New York Society of Illustrators in 2014, and nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
He lives in the southeast of France where he specializes quietly in drawing animals that squint.
